Bowentherapy

Bowen Therapy (BowTech) is an Australian based fascial therapy. It is a gentle,
manual and holistic muscle and connective tissue therapy. It is applied with
the aim of targeting the causes of disease, treating symptoms and easing pain.

The philosophy behind Bowen Techniques modality is based on the osteopathic
principle that the structure of the body governs its function. These gentle fascial
therapy applies specific ‘Moves‘ impulses in precise sequences unto muscles,
tendons and ligaments. Its focus is a deep relaxation, musculoskeletal, influencing
the vegetative nervsystem with the intention to promote a healthy blood and
lymph flow and improved function of all internal organs.

The most surprising about Bowen therapy is its simplicity and effectiveness.
Especially benefiting for those who are sick, but also those who are generally
healthy- for babies -for sportsmen/athletes – for the elderly. The benefits contribute
to an increase in general wellbeing.

Mr. Thomas A. Bowen developer the Bowen Technique, once said
that any or every condition could be addressed by this technique.
This gentle Australian healing system, the BowenTechnic, is developed
to treat a broad range of physical ailments including muscular,
structural and visceral complaints, among others.

Fascia (also referred to as the ‘living matrix’) is a connective tissue
that surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, organs, blood vessels,
and nerves, binding those structures together. It is an interconnecting
network which extends into every part of the body.

It is a dynamic fascial and muscle release modality, with single, gentle
cross-fibre moves being applied to specific muscles, tendons and
ligaments to improve flow of blood, lymph and energy. These moves
are usually applied in precise Sequences. When required, these
Sequences often create self-correcting structural changes to promote
overall body balance.

During a treatment the practitioner applies gentle ‘rolling’ moves on
very specific points on the muscles, tendons and ligaments. These
moves are often applied in special sequences. These initiate relaxation
of the muscles, flexibility of the fascia and increased circulation of
essential fluids and serve to bring about the often profound results
positively affecting many conditions in the whole body.

At specific times during the treatment, the practitioner may allow
the body to rest; perhaps even leaving the room. This can be an
important part of the treatment, when the body is given time to react
and also a time to relax – permitting the treatment recipient to ‘tune-in’
to how the body may be responding to the therapy.

A minimalist approach to bodywork, it is extremely gentle and is safe
for anyone from pregnant women to newborn babies, the frail and the
elderly. It can effectively relieve pain and assist in recovery from many
conditions, ranging from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending
on each individual’s capacity to heal, and alleviates the necessity for
repetitive and often invasive action. No adverse side effects are known,
nor have been reported.

The visceral impact of correcting basic structural imbalance can,
in itself, often be profound. Add to this, specific sequences aimed
at visceral dysfunction and a truly holistic approach to many health
problems results.

Fertility Treatment, Fertility Counselling and Limited Fertility

The Bowen Therapy – naturally sourced help for the unfulfilled desire
to have children. About every seventh couple in Germany between
the ages of 20 and 50 years is unintentionally childless and is clinically
defined as infertile. However, the proportion of patients who are
actually infertile is at ten percent at the most. For all others there is
a so-called “subfertility”, i.e. only limited fertility. Causes here could
include hormonal deficiencies and a poor quality of life, spermograms,
especially emotional stress in men and glued fascia around the uterus
and fallopian tubes. (*Source – Der Spiegel, Germany)

I recall one of my first patients after I completed my training back
then. Silke E. actually came to see me because of her problems in
the lumbar spine. After three treatments she told me that she was
“finally” pregnant and if it could be, that this is a result of the Bowen
treatment, because for more than two years tshe and her husband
tried everything to get pregnant, but nothing helped. Currently they
are the proud parents of two healthy and happy children.

More and more often, it is an unfulfilled desire to have children that
lead couples into a Bowen therapy practice. Most often, these
couples attempt to have the child of her dreams and are already living
through a lot (various examinations in so-called reproduction clinics,
hormone treatments, artificial inseminations, etc.). Not infrequently
we learn that this is their last hope.

I prefer to encourage couples to find an alternative way to
conventional medicine. or the efforts of orthodox medicine to
achieve an naturopathic variant.

How can Bowentherapy help?
The Bowen Therapy has a proven positive success rate in the
treatment of infertility. Tests in this regard have been carried out in
the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and the United States
with remarkable results. The therapy stimulates and strengthens the
body’s self-regulating and self-healing powers: Body, soul and spirit.

The effect of the gentle grips on the body provide stimulation giving
the structures and organs the impetus to refer back to their own
movement and thus be able to fulfil their own actual function.
This regulatory capacity of the Bowen therapy leads to the fact that
the menstrual cycle can take place regularly again and that ovulations
seem regulated again. This also leads to an increase in blood circulation
and activation of the lymphatic system. Once the reproductive organs
in women and men are better supplied with blood again and are in
balance, at which point fertility also increases.

Bowen also leads to a balance in the vegetative and autonomous
portion of our nervous system. This means that the regulation of the
glandular activity, cardiovascular function and respiration, as well
as to a deep recovery and relaxation on the psychological level –
indispensable stimuli for conception and ovulation – are
significantly supported.

Bowen during pregnancy
Bowen is also ideal for expectant mothers with adaptation to the
new situation. Physical and hormonal changes are taking place.
The mobility in the pelvic area of the mother is promoted, in order
to create ideal conditions for a positive developmental environment
for the baby, as well as for a good birthing process for both mother
and child.

The Bowentherapy offers risk-free support during pregnancy,
reducing or eliminating those, common complaints – such as
back pain and tension, swollen legs, circulatory problems and nausea,
which are often caused by changes in statics and the new situation.
Bowen Therapy simply make your pregnancy easier.
